I tutor many subjects, however, I get the most enjoyment out of teaching Spanish. Being bilingual is a blessing, which has allowed me to make friends around the globe. Learning Spanish, or any language, can be difficult. So I work to make the process easier, by using examples and visual aids. I've also found it helps when students connect with the culture and people who speak Spanish. Once a connection is made, students are more motivated, and comprehension of grammar and vocabulary come easier to the student. As an educator and lifetime learner, I believe strongly in education and that it's essential for a better quality of life. I share this appreciation with almost all of my students.I'm a teacher at a local high school in Missouri. I studied Art History and minored in Spanish at the University of Missouri. I also received a Master of Education in Secondary Education and Counseling. I've completed advanced coursework at two institutions: the University of Costa Rica (in Spanish) and the University of Puerto Rico (as a National Endowment of the Humanities scholar). I've explored several countries in South America, Central America, Asia, and Europe.I am rather creative, so I enjoy creative writing, crafting, and drawing. I also love the outdoors, and enjoy yoga, hiking, and running.
